Rajorshi Sen Gupta receives Tom Slick:: PhD student, Rajorshi Sen Gupta, has been awarded the prestigious Tom Slick Graduate Fellowship for the 2008-09 academic year. This fellowship is awarded to outstanding PhD students to support the completion of their dissertation research.----05.09.08

MAB Industry Partners providing scholarships for MAB students this fall:: The MAB Industry Partners, instituted in 2007, have provided funds for MAB student scholarships and fellowships, and have given support for the Food and Agribusiness Industry Symposia. Current Industry Partners are JBS Swift & Company, CoBank, and Monsanto.----04.21.08

Geoff Pofahl receives Outstanding Dissertation Award:: Former PhD student, Geoff Pofahl, will receive the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Southern Agricultural Economics Association at their annual meeting in Dallas, TX, February 3-5, 2008. His dissertation is entitled "Essays on Horizontal Merger Simulation: The Curse of Dimensionality, Retail Price Discrimination, and Supply Channel Stage-games." Geoff's chair was Oral Capps, Jr.----01.28.08

Food and Agribusiness Industry Symposium:: The second Food and Agribusiness Industry Symposium is scheduled for Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Donald Houston Center at Texas A&M University. Representatives from Monsanto, HEB, and Compass Bank will present. Anyone interested in participating should contact Eluned Jones, as space is limited.----01.28.08

Director General of OCIR Cafe:: Etienne Bihogo, former MAB student, has been appointed Director General of OCIR Cafe, the National Coffee Board of Rwanda.----10.12.07

Food and Agribusiness Industry Leaders Symposium:: The first Food and Agribusiness Industry Leaders Symposium held on September 27, 2007 at the Donald Houston Center at Texas A&M University. Representatives from JBS Swift and Company, Sysco Corporation, and Viagen met with 70 students and faculty from the MAB and AGEC graduate programs.----10.12.07

Yongxia Cai awarded Tom Slick Graduate Fellowship::The Tom Slick Graduate Research Fellowship program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M provides financial support for the research training of exceptional graduate students. Yongxia Cai has been awarded the prestigious Tom Slick Fellowship for the 2007-08 academic year.----10.12.07

Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Research:: Mark Musumba honored with Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Research for his master's thesis entitled "Factors Influencing Internatinal Graduate Student's Preference Concerning Where They Prefer to Start Thier Careers". Mark's co-chairs were James Mjelde and Yanhong Jin.----10.12.07
