Tuition Rebates
If you have used 2 or more Q-drops for 3 hr. courses and/or
are not a Texas resident, STOP! You are not eligible.
Students must apply for rebates at least one day PRIOR
to receiving their baccalaureate degrees. In other words, if your graduation
ceremony is scheduled for a Friday, your application MUST
be in no later than the Thursday BEFORE. The Monday
after your graduation ceremony, in this example, is TOO LATE.
Tuition rebates will be reduced by the amount of any outstanding student
loan, including an emergency loan, owed to or guaranteed by this state,
including the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corp.
We are sure you have heard that to meet qualifications you "must
have attempted no more than three hours in excess of
the minimum number of semester credit hours required to complete the
degree under the catalog under which they were graduated." For
AGEC and AGBU majors, that would be no more than 135 hours. Attempted
is the key word!
Hours attempted include:
- Transfer credits
- Course credit earned exclusively by examination
- Courses that are dropped after the official census date (Q-drops)
- “For credit” developmental courses (i.e., CAEN 101-Suceeding
in College)
- Optional internship and cooperative education courses
- Courses repeated exclusively by examination
- Repeated courses
Additional requirements/information is available at: http://www.tamu.edu/admissions/records/tuition_rebate.pdf.
The form you must complete to apply is also located at this site. Return
your completed form to The Registrar's Office at the Metro Center on Texas Ave.
