Student Internships
There are two principal internship programs available to undergraduate AGEC and AGBU students. One program is the Agricultural and Natural Resources Program (ANRP) Congressional Internship administered at the COALS college-level.
Dr. James Richardson is the Congressional Internship Faculty Director at the Department-level in Agricultural Economics. Prerequisite requirements for the ANRP internship credit in AGEC courses program are as follows:
|   | Agricultural & Natural Resources Policy Internships, AGEC 105 or 3 hours of economics; 2.25 GPR (overall, in major, and in CBK classes, if applicable); junior or senior classification; and approval of department head and supervising professor. The Industry Internship is another program available to AGEC and AGBU students. This program is administered in the Department of Agricultural Economics by Dr. Kerry K. Litzenberg, Faculty Internship Director, and Mrs. Rose Springfield, Industry Internship Coordinator. Prerequisite requirements for AGEC and AGBU majors to receive academic credit (AGEC 484 and 485) for this program are as follows:
|   | Student must have completed at least 30 hours total (a minimum of 12 hours at Texas A&M University); AGEC 105; either ECON 202 or ECON 203; MATH 141; MATH 142; AGEC 217; and ACCT 209 or 229 (or their equivalents); have a 2.75 GPR (overall, in major, and in CBK classes, if applicable) for students having completed between 30 - 60 hours or a 2.50 GPR (overall, in major, and in CBK classes, if applicable) for students having completed 60 or more hours; and approval of department head and supervising professor.
