On-Campus Transfer Applicants
Applications for Admission to the Department of Agricultural Economics are evaluated by the Undergraduate Assistant Head and academic advisors. Students will be informed of their admission or denial into the Department of Agricultural Economics by telephone.
Students admitted to the Department of Agricultural Economics are REQUIRED to attend an on-campus transfer meeting. You will be given the date(s) and time(s) for the meeting(s) when you come to the Undergraduate Office to complete the change of major paper work. Failure to attend this meeting will result in the cancellation of your admission, and the courses in which you are registered will be dropped. Also, students admitted to the Department of Agricultural Economics are required to take courses that apply to the degree in which they were admitted.
Current TAMU students applying for change of major into Agricultural Economics should meet the following criteria to be considered for admission:
- Have completed at least 12 graded hours at TAMU
- Have a minimum cumulative GPR of at least a 2.5
- Have completed at least 6 hours from the following list of courses:
AGEC 105; ACCT 209; ACCT 229; ACCT 210; ACCT 230; MATH 141; MATH 142; ECON 202; ECON 203 - Complete an application for admission into the Department of Agricultural Economics by the appropriate deadline below.
Current TAMU students applying for change of major into Agribusiness should meet the following criteria to be considered for admission:
- Have completed at least 12 graded hours at TAMU
- Have a minimum cumulative GPR of at least a 2.75
- Have completed at least 6 hours from the following list of courses:
AGEC 105; ACCT 229; ACCT 230; MATH 141; MATH 142; ECON 202; ECON 203 - Complete an application for admission into the Department of Agricultural Economics by the appropriate deadline below.
NOTE: The Department of Agricultural Economics will NOT admit students who have been dismissed from another major at Texas A&M University.
