The Department of Agricultural Economics Aggie REPS is a leadership organization established to promote undergraduate activities in the Department and to function as a liaison between faculty and students. The Aggie REPS host several activities for all undergraduates in the Department of Agricultural Economics and also serve as hosts to prospective students, their parents, and other campus visitors.
Who Are The Aggie REPS?
The Aggie REPS are a group of AGEC and AGBU undergraduate students that concentrate on new student orientation, student mentoring, department/campus tours, and student-to-faculty communication. The Aggie REPS organization includes 10 – 25 undergraduate Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness students who are selected from among the applicants. The selection process involves both written applications and interviews. Aggie REPS are selected based on academic qualifications, leadership capabilities, personality characteristics, and commitment to service.
What Are The Requirements?
Requirements of Aggie REPS students are that they be an AGBL, AGBU, or AGEC major, be a second-semester freshman, sophomore, junior, or first-semester senior, and have a minimum cumulative GPR of 2.50. While serving as an Aggie REP, individual semester GPRs must be at or above 2.50 for a course load of 12 or greater hours.
REPS applications are due in mid-February every year. REPS are interviewed by the advisors and new REPS are chosen before the end of the spring semester. If you have any questions, e-mail us, contact us in the office, or check with one of this year’s Aggie REPS – their pictures are located on the first floor of Blocker next to the main entrance.
