Troy Thompson

Troy Thompson joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in August of 2021. Prior to joining Texas A&M, Troy was the Business Planning and Analytics Manager at Chevron, a multinational energy company. Prior to that, he worked in market analysis and strategic planning for Deloitte, a financial services company, and Halliburton, a large oilfield services company. He has an undergraduate degree in Agriculture/Agribusiness from Sam Houston State University and master's degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University.  His areas of specialty include analytics, energy economics, business planning and management.  Troy is Past President and Senior Fellow of the United States Association for Energy Economics.  He is a member of Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry and was recipient of a Professional Service Award from the Western Agricultural Economics Association (WAEA) in 2010.
