The B.S. degree in agricultural economics is offered at the the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen, where students in South Texas get the best of both worlds: being a part of the larger Texas A&M University family while attending classes closer to home with a small college feel.

What is Agricultural Economics?

In this major, students learn about the globalization of agriculture systems, new technologies, applied economics and economic logic in order to develop the technical skills needed to analyze and communicate about agriculture, food, management and resource issues in Texas, the nation and the world. 

Graduates are prepared for diverse career’s across agricultural and non-agricultural industries, working in businesses, firms, and agencies both within the public and private sectors. Students can further specialize by selecting a focus area in:
