The globalization of agriculture, new technologies, nutritional and environmental resources, and U.S. and foreign policies are creating the need for industries to hire graduates with strong backgrounds in applied economics, business principles, and leadership. Our STEM-certified undergraduate degrees prepare students to pursue professional careers in the public and private sectors to meet these needs in the dynamic economy. Undergraduate Degrees
B.S. Agribusiness
Students pursuing our STEM-certified Agribusiness degree learn about the nation’s growing agribusiness sector and its contributions to the agriculture and natural resources industries.
B.S. Agricultural Economics
Students pursuing our STEM-certified Agricultural Economics degree can choose to focus on Finance and Real Estate, Food Marketing Systems, Policy and Economic Analysis, or Rural Entrepreneurship.
B.S. Financial Planning
We also offer an accelerated, 5-year dual agricultural economics and MPSA degree program in Financial Planning, in partnership with the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
B.S. Agricultural Economics and Master of Public Service Administration Combined Program
This combined program with the Bush School of Government and Public Service allows qualifying undergraduate Agricultural Economics students to enter the MPSA program at the beginning of their senior year, earning both degrees in five years.

Participation in the AGEC Undergraduate Honors Program, open to students majoring in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, enhances the college experience by offering scholastically-challenging curriculum and stimulating an interest in research.
Study Agricultural Economics in McAllen
We offer an undergraduate degree in agricultural economics at the the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen, where students in South Texas get the best of both worlds. Students in McAllen benefit from being a part of the larger Texas A&M University family, but can attend classes closer to home with a small college feel.
