Dr. Iván Borja is a development economist that has worked extensively in 15 Latin American and the Caribbean countries with international organizations, universities, think tanks, research centers and governments. He has collaborated and headed development and research projects for UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, FAO, ECLAC, EU, GIZ, IADB, VVOB, ODI, IFPRI and others. He has been Professor and Director of the Health Economics and Local Development Graduate Program at San Francisco de Quito University of Ecuador and simultaneously adjunct professorship at Catholic University of Ecuador, Zamorano University, and Ana G. Mendez University, and has published 1 book, and numerous reports and articles. He researches topics in human and economic development including poverty and inequality, agriculture, education, public health, food security and environment, climate change, gender, and demographics. He is also an enthusiastic farmer entrepreneur committed to optimizing farm productivity and sustainability. He is originally from Ecuador.
