Professional Summary
When asked, “From where do you get your inspiration to create your art,” Knox responded with, “I love the act of painting, feeling the paint on the brush as it is applied to the canvas or paper, and seeing the results of what is envisioned being manifested with my emotions and thoughts. It means so much to me that what I create inspires others too, brightens their day, and brings comfort in a world often filled with hardships.”
Benjamin Knox ’90 has been commissioned to create a variety of works. Some of these include the 125th Anniversary painting entitled “The Aggie Timeline,” a Silver Taps painting, the Native Texan license plate, a painting of the state capitol to be the official gift of Texas, etc. In 2022, he completed a mural at the Bush Presdential Library in College Station. He is the artist of the official oil painting of Dr. Tyrus R. Timm, the namesake of the Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry of Former Students in Agricultural Economics.
Secondary to his professional art career, in 2015, Professor Knox began teaching design and drawing at Texas A&M University in the Department of Visualization, College of Architecture. Knox exclaims, “It is very rewarding to share all of the knowledge that I have accumulated from my lifetime of mentors. It is like passing a valuable torch from one generation to the next.”
Knox and his wife, Renee, own and operate the Benjamin Knox Gallery and Art Center, an event venue space, wine bar, and art gallery showcasing his work.
