Professional Summary
Mark Waller, Ph.D. is a Professor and Extension Specialist, and Associate Department Head for Extension in the Department of Agricultural Economics. His applied research and extension emphasis is in the area of price analysis and risk management and market analysis for producers, handlers, processors, and other users of wheat, corn, grain sorghum, rice, soybeans, and their products. He served as the Grain Marketing Specialist from 1988-2005. During that time he served as Co-Director the Master Marketer Program, and Co-Leader the Texas Risk Management Education Program. He was promoted to Associate Department Head-Extension in 2005, and currently still holds that position. He also served as Acting Department Head from May 2018-July 2021. He has produced over 600 publications, and made over 1100 presentations to a combined audience of over 43,000 participants. He has participated in 98 grants for a total of $6,660,580. He is a member of the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association, the Southern Agricultural Economics Association, and the Texas Extension Specialists Association.
